Rocking crib 3D

I designed the rocking crib using George and basic shapes along with the cricut design studio.
I used cream lace sewing 3 sections together to make the drape, glued lace all the way around the outside of the crib, and made the blanket using bronze satin and a little lace .
The mattress was covered in bronze satin and then added 3 peach bows, a butterfly and flower (pre-assembled!).

Rocking Crib Instructions

Items you will need:

· Cricut & Design Studio George basic shapes cartridges
· Card of your choice
· Craft Knife
· Scissors
· Glue
· Lace
· Fabric for dressing
· Embellishments of your choice

Instructions

1. If the cut has been downloaded and you’re outside of the UK, please go to the control panel on your PC and change the regional language/location from English/UK to your own.

2. Cut the file out as you would normally using your design studio and Cricut.

3. Crease the crib sides into place and stick it together, neaten the edging with a creasing/blunt tool.

4. Cut the crib ends (Page 3) out twice and glue them together with page 1 crib end (make the drape rod and fix into place) before securing them to the crib main body. This will add strength to allow the crib to stand and rock without the sides buckling due to its weight.

5. To make the drape rod, use the thin rectangle on page 2, fold in half lengthwise, cut a length of wire just short of the card length add some adhesive (I use Pergamano glue as it dries quickly!) stick and bend into position. Adhere this to the middle of the crib before adding the crib ends.

6. To make the drape, you need to cut three sections of lace, making them an inch smaller each time, start with 9 inches, then 8” and 7”, sew these together, and then sew the back edge together.

7. If applying lace to the outside of the crib, measure first around the area you are wanting to place it before cutting, saves waste!! Big believer!! Glue and attach.

8. Cover the mattress in material, I tend to use satin. Then make a top covering, using the same material and some smaller lace.

9. Embellish away!

Baby Shoes

Items you will need:

· Cricut & Design Studio and George Basic Shapes Cartridge
· Paper of your choice
· Craft Knife
· Scissors
· Glue
· Lace (optional)
· Embellishments of your choice

Instructions

1. If the cut has been downloaded and you’re outside of the UK, please change the regional language/location from English/UK to your own.

2. Cut as you would normally using your design studio and Cricut-not gonna tell you how to suck eggs.

3. Cut two soles, hence the second page!

4. Fold and glue the small tabs around the base of the shoe on the wrong side, working from the front, line up the top of the show to the top of the sole, continue gluing all the tabs down both sides until you come to the join, place glue on the remaining piece of card and stick it down on the inside of the Shoe.

5. Neaten the shoe edge with a creasing/blunt tool.

6. You can either punch small holes down either side of the centre for lace up shoes; use peel offs to mimic laces or simply place embellishments of your choice on the front. You could even cut a small oval to resemble the shoe tongue!!

7. Embellish away!!!

8. If applying lace measure first around the sole of the shoe before cutting, saves waste!! Big believer!! Glue and attach.

9. Glue the second sole cut and glue over the lace, making sure it adheres securely.

Tips

1. Before gluing your shoes, if you have a cuttlebug, dry emboss them or with any other dry embosser!!

2. Again if you have Pergamano tools, prick a design into the shoes.

3. Use 3D liquid pearl paint and apply stickles to give your work dimension.

4. Admittedly there are thousands of embellishments to decorate these shoes, some include lace; ribbon; buttons; glitter/glues; whatever you can lay your hands on really.

5. For the really heavy embellishments, use strong glue ie: hot glue gun to secure fixture!!!

Canvas Card- 3D Baby Girl Shoe Keepsake

I spent a lot of time making this keepsake card for a colleague, almost a year ago, but I recently found it on an old phone and just had to share it with everyone, even now as back when I made it I'm proud of the end result. The shoe I orginally made in card but covered it in satin as I wasn't that happy with card alone, the results if I'm not blowing my own trumpet are outstanding!

I'm now gonna have a bash at making shoes on my cricut, so you could say watch this space!!!
